How Media Access Works
Official PIO-authorized access to emergency incident information for credentialed media organizations.
IC/PIO Activated
Media access for each incident is explicitly activated by the Incident Commander or designated Public Information Officer. Only authorized incidents appear here.
Time-Based Pricing
First 48 hours are the Breaking News Window at maximum price. Access then decreases in 36-hour blocks as the incident matures, reflecting news value.
Embargo Enforced
All content is embargoed until the PIO marks it Released. Publishing embargoed content violates the Media Access Agreement and results in immediate revocation.
50% to Recovery
Half of every access fee goes directly to the PIO-designated local non-profit recovery organization. 25% funds the platform. 25% subsidizes smaller volunteer agencies.
